After a tight and long race, as a half marathon (link), usually I take a
week of recovery. Basically I do the same number of workouts but with fewer
miles and very easy.
The day after the race I rest and often I do not even feel too tired. Pains generally arrive on Monday evening and especially when waking on Tuesday.
Now let’s go to the two workouts after the race:
Tuesday. Planning: a
nice slow easy run, without worrying
about timing and hearth beats.
At the sound of the alarm (5 a.m.!), I get out of bed in puppet style, pain everywhere, especially in the posterior chain, hamstrings and tendons. Dressing within the usual 10' net and down on the street. It is still dark and the forecast gives rain and cold, so I’m all wrapped up and this time and I'll die of heat! You will have realized by now that I have serious trouble choosing the right clothing.
The time for GPS to take the line and I go, very slowly, in progression but always at about 10' per mile. An hour later I’m back home. Luckily I there was little rain.

Monday: another slow run planned, possibly at 128 bpm,
but still easy.
Wake up at 5 a.m. again, this time acquainting hardly. I complete the ritual formalities and exit. Perfectly starry sky, 100% wet, porky cold, but the clothing is appropriate today! The beats are good, that is quite low, unlike after the last half marathon, when they exploded in the next days. It should be a good sign, but wait to see in the coming days.
14 km at a pace of 5'30 '' done, I'm back to the base. For the first time since last October I was able to see the sunrise during a weekly training, it is always a special feeling.

Tomorrow rest again and the pain should disappear.
